Meet Rodrigo Filipe, Surfer Winemaker and pioneer of naturally made wine in Portugal.

Rodrigo Filipe took over his father's wine estate in the coastal area near Caldas da Rainha in the early 2000s. He resolutely opted for an organic approach in the vineyard. In the cellar, however, he still relied on the classic tools (cultured yeasts to start fermentation, sulphites as an antioxidant, etc.). But as soon as he had understood the behaviour of his maturing wines, he also opted for the natural approach when making wine.

Rodrigo is now considered one of the pioneers and references of natural winemaking in Portugal.

This connection with nature does not come out of nowhere: as a man of the sea, he lived from a young age to the rhythm of the waves and with great respect for everything around him.

Rodrigo's wines are characterised by both a lot of individuality and a lot of energy, 100% Atlantic.
