The CARM olive oil production area is located in the heart of the Douro Superior; the sub-region considered the cradle of the best Port vineyards but also possessing excellent natural characteristics for olive oil production.The very poor slate soils and the exposure of the olive groves to a dry climate with large temperature differences between summer and winter help to produce oil of character.
The best Cobrançosa, Madural, Negrinha and Verdeal olives are selected for the production of “Clássico” CARM olive oil.
