Po de Poeira Branco follows the story of the red Po and also comes from the same north-facing slope as the top wine, but from a part with younger vines. In 2004 they decided to plant a white vineyard with Alvarinho ( a peculiar choice not often seen in the Douro Region) and Gouveio in a small plot with a different soil, more fertile and with more water. This plot has less hours of sun as well, which is perfect to grow white grapes.This makes for a lighter and more accessible wine, but still with the distinct character that Jorge expresses in his wines. Like the top wine, he does not feel the urge to polish the structure too much and gives free rein to the wild, rough nature of the Douro. The location of the vineyard (Terra Feita near Provesende in the Cima Corgo) has been highly regarded for many years.
